Hi, I'm Paul

Teacher of the 1 Giant Mind Being Meditation Technique.

I live in Monmouth in the beautiful Wye Valley with my wife Alison who is a Yoga Teacher. I'm keen to share this technique that has been so beneficial to me over the years.

Meditation has had a hugely positive impact on my life since I learned it in 2016. It has significantly reduced my anxiety and stress levels, making me a lot calmer, happier and more relaxed. It has also cultivated a growing self-awareness within me, enabling me to improve my physical health, and mental well-being and achieve a deepening sense of fulfillment with life.

Having experienced these benefits for myself, I’m excited to share this wonderful technique and help others to improve their well-being in the same way.

This is a simple, but powerful technique, rooted in tradition but formatted for a modern audience. It can be practiced anywhere and is easy to integrate into your daily routine.

The Technique

Most meditation techniques require a certain amount of concentration, focus or control, that can make practicing them quite challenging.  The technique that I teach is effortless in its practice, it rapidly cultivates greater self-awareness and triggers ‘the relaxation response’, which is the opposite of the ‘fight or flight’ or ‘acute stress response.’  This in turn causes a profound state of deep rest, that allows built up stress and fatigue to leave our system.

When we combine the expanding of our awareness with the removal of stress, we create a level of vitality and clarity in our system that empowers us to re-direct our lives in ways that we want them to go.  We begin to claim our lives back from the negative impact of stress and start living from a place of creative desire, to achieve what we want to experience in our life

Psychological Benefits

Meditation can:

  • Reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. When we meditate, the brain and nervous system can undergo radical changes that cause the reduction and prevention of these conditions.

  • Increase stress resilience. With a regular meditation practice we can learn to recover faster from the challenges that life presents.

  • Increase positive emotions. There are a few reasons why this happens. The simplest reason is the reduction of stress. This allows us to return to our natural state, which is to feel calm, connected to ourselves, and confident to meet the challenges of life.

  • Increase emotional stability and intelligence. When we meditate regularly our hormones balance and we can feel less reactive, less defensive, and more calm and collected.

  • Increase a sense of connection to yourself and others. The more we meditate, the more we become aware of who we are. With regular meditation, we develop a quieter, calmer awareness that reveals a stronger, more stable sense of who we are. Our relationships become deeper and more meaningful based on the simple principle: “the more you know yourself, the more you can know another."

  • Improve sociability. Taking time out for ourselves is important to live a rich, full life, and in making meaningful connections with others. Nervousness, anxiety, and feeling down or disorientated plays a big role in our not wanting to interact with people. Because regular meditation can increase our connection with ourselves, it activates an increase in our confidence and ability to connect with others.

Physical Benefits

Meditation can:

  • Reduce cortisol production, a stress-induced hormone that suppresses the immune system often making  you feel anxious, nervous and unsettled.

  • Regulate blood pressure and heart rate, which can alleviate unnecessary pressure on your heart and arteries.

  • Increase neuroplasticity. This is the brain’s ability to organise itself and adapt to demands, thus enabling you to become more efficient in the learning processes.

  • Trigger the parasympathetic nervous system, which enables us to rest and recover from stress.

  • Boost the immune system. As the immune system becomes more effective, this can reduce our chances of catching colds, enhance our ability to fight off viruses and even to heal faster.

  • Aid muscle relaxation. Relaxation can reduce pain and discomfort, increase mobility in the body and encourage good sleep patterns.
